CLEANING OF 40 Km long MAIN RAIN

KARACHI: The
chairman of DMC Central, Rehan Hashmi
has directed his concerned to expedite the cleanliness process of about 40 Km
long main drains of DMC Central, including Gujjar Nala, to facilitate the citizens during heavy monsoon as per prediction of
metrological office here in Karachi. According to Rehan Hashmi, cleaning of the
Main Rain Drains was the responsibility of KMC but repeated reminders resulted
in no avail. Rehan Hashmi has shown his concern about the attitude of the
common people, living near rain drains, who usually throw garbage in rain
drains and cause creation of heaps of trash therein that choke the Nalas and
cause overflow and spread of filthy water in streets and the market areas. He
has appealed the people to cooperate with the DMC administration by avoiding
throwing garbage in rain drains. On the other hand encroachment on rain drains
has caused great problem and narrowed the passage of the Rain Drains. However,
Rehan Hashmi has directed the anti encroachment department to demolish the
encroachments so as to keep the Nalas clean and rain water might flow swiftly
during heavy rain.
کراچی ( ) محکمہۂ موسمیات کی جانب سے آئند ہ چند روز میں مون سون بارشوں کا سلسلہ شروع ہونے کی پیش گوئی کے سبب بلدیہ وسطی میں ہنگامی اقدامات ، برساتی نالوں کی صفائی ، سیوریج اور گڑلائنز کو رننگ کنڈیشن میں رکھنے کی ہدایات جاری کردی گئیں۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق چیئرمین بلدیہ وسطی ریحان ہاشمی نے محکمہء موسمیات کی جانب سے مون سون بارشوں کے امکانات کی گھنٹی بجاتے ہیں ضلع وسطی میں ہنگامی اقدامات شروع کردئے ہیں۔سینی ٹیشن ڈپارٹمنٹ کو ہدایت جاری کی گئی ہیں کہ ہر یوسی کی سیوریج اور گڑلائنوں رننگ کنڈیشن میں رکھا جائے اور اگر کہیں کسی قسم کی رکاوٹ ہوتو فوری دور کی جائے۔ جبکہ برساتی نالوں کی صفائی پر فوری توجہ دے کر اُن میں سے ہر قسم کا کوڑا کرکٹ نکالاجائے تاکہ بارشوں کے دوران بارش کا سیلابی پانی گلیوں، نالیوں اور گٹر لائن سے ہوکر جب برساتی نالوں میں گرے تو بلا روک ٹوک بہتا ہُو ا گجر نالہ سے ملیر ندی میں جاگرے ۔ انہوں نے بلدیہ وسطی میں ایسے درختوں کو کاٹنے کی ہدایت کی کہ جن کے آندھی سے گر جانے کا خطرہ ہو۔ واضح رہے کہ بلدیہ وسطی کے علاقے میں موجود نالوں کی طوالت تقریباً چالیس کلو میٹر کے لگ بھگ ہے۔جبکہ بیشتر نالوں پر ناجائز تجاوزات قائم ہیں ۔جو نالوں کی صفائی کی راہ میں رکاوٹ پیداکرتی ہیں۔دوسری طرف عوام کی جانب سے نالوں میں کوڑا کرکٹ پھینکنے کی وجہ سے نالے پانی کے بجائے کوڑے سے بھر جاتے ہیں۔جس کی وجہ سے نالوں سے پانی کا گزرنا مشکل ہوجاتاہے۔ ایسے میں بارش ہوجائے تو نالے اُبل پڑیں اور پانی رہائشی اور تجارتی مراکز میں بھر جائے۔ اس صورتِ حال سے بچنے کے لئے ریحان ہاشمی نے تمام برساتی نالوں اور سیوریج لائنوں کی صفائی کا حکم دیا ہے تاکہ بارانِ رحمت عوام کے لئے زحمت نہ بن جائیں۔اگرچہ مرکزی برساتی نالوں کی صفائی بلدیہ عظمیٰ کی ذمہ داری ہے تاہم بارہا یاد دہانی کرانے کے باوجود شہری حکومت کی جانب سے کوئی اقدام نہیں کیا گیا اس لئے بلدیہ وسطی اپنے دستیاب وسائل استعمال کرتے ہوئے برساتی نالوں کی صفائی کرارہی ہے۔

Karachi ( )Chairman DMC Central Rehan Hashmi said that despite adverse circumstance, welfare works continued during Ramazan. Although there was acute shortage of drinking water, DMC Central was trying hard to spread greenery in its area of jurisdiction by supplying about 20,000 gallons of treated sewerage water to about 20 parks and few green belts. He was addressing the press and media persons at an Iftar Party dinner which was arranged in their honor by DMC Central here. To facilitate the people offering prayers and Taraavih, surroundings and pathways to mosques, imambargahs and places of Taraavih were cleaned and street lights were affixed to brighten the pathways as well; he added. Rehan Hashmi further said that DMC Central was facing serious problems due to negligence of KWSB as it did not repair the leaking and broken sewerage and water pipe lines here, that had caused threat of loss of millions of gallons of drinking water and creation of stagnant dirty water ponds. DMC Central, had got sewerage and water pipelines repaired on its own expenses, in many UCs as it could not let the common people fall in crises.
The chairman also told that cleaning of the about 40 Km length of main rain-drains was being carried out to smoothly drive away the rain-flood during Monsoon rains as predicted by the meteorological department during this week.
DMC Central facing shortage of man power in sanitary department, 7oo vacancies had been approved but the Sindh Government did not allow appointment; He further said.He also showed his concern on unauthorized parking of buses under the bridges by transport mafia and had urged the anti-encroachment department to get the places freed from them so he could make projects to beautify these places in public interest.The chairman appealed the people of DMC Central, not to throw garbage and trash in rain drains and other naalas to keep the flow of dirty water smooth.
