KARACHI: The tree plantation drive has been launched by DMC Central Chairman Rehan Hashmi by planting sapling here at Nazimabad Bara dari on Thursday. Hashmi stressed for plantation of more and more trees in district Karachi central and stressed for cleanliness in the area .Chairman was accompanied by vice chairman Syed Shakir Ali .According to reports gathered by KMC and other agencies claim that there are more than  four  lac vendors /patharedars on major roads of the city and its adjoining areas. Sindh chief Minister Murad Ali Shah during visits of different parts of the city had pointed out encroachments and directed to remove and one of the latest he ordered to remove encroachments around the zoo.The action is awaited , the concerned staff and KMC officials say they need a full force to remove these vendors as resistance comes when they are removed .CM house spokesman said it is big mafia but CM Murad Ali Shah is determined   to eliminate this menace from the  city .KMC spokesman said law and order problem would be controlled once they are removed and city could be beautified in a dignified manner.The police allegedly support this mafia as they are minting billions of rupees through these land grabbers and one the best place for them, beneath the bridges .The KMC mayor Waseem Akhtar said encroachment is the biggest hurdle in lifting the garbage but all the time they occupy these places .Mayor as the migration in the city takes place the number of these vendors become double and create
 a mess in the city for traffic as well as pedestrians .

NFEH (National Forum for Environment & Health)نعیم قریشی بھی موجود تھے۔وائس چیئرمین بلدیہ وسطی سید شاکر علی نے کہا کہ سرسبز پرسکون کراچی کے لوگوں کی خواہش ہے اور ہم عزم کرتے ہیں کہ ہم کراچی والوں کو سرسبز پرسکون کراچی دینگے۔ اس کیلئے ہمیں عوام کا تعاون درکار ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ NFEHکی طرز پر دوسرے پرائیوٹ ادارے کراچی کی تعمیر و ترقی میں اپنا اپنا کردار ادا کریں تو ہرا بھرا اور پرسکون کراچی بنانا نہایت آسان ہو جائیگا۔چیئرمین بلدیہ وسطی نے تمام پرائیوٹ سیکٹر اور
NGO'sکو دعوت دی ہے کہ جو کراچی کی تعمیر و ترقی بالخصوص بلدیہ وسطی کی تعمیر ترقی میں حصہ لینا چاہتے ہیں ہم انہیں خوش آمدید کہتے ہیں۔
